Job Title: Women's Center Facilitator

Job Summary

  • The Women’s Center Facilitator will be responsible for case management and psychosocial support of vulnerable women, including survivors of violence, in one of the project sites in Maiduguri.

  • Refer clients to Case Workers, as relevant

Qualification and Experience
  • Educated to university level (First degree or HND preferably in Social Science or a related Field)

  • Previous training/experience in GBV programming an asset

Job Summary

Job Title: WASH Technician

Location:

Job Summary
  • The WASH Technician will be responsible for providing support to the WASH team on the hardware components of the WASH program including construction and drilling/rehabilitation of water points especially in the areas of BOQ development, following and day to day supervision of field works to ensure contractors are delivering quality infrastructures including but not limited to latrines, water points..
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with WASH Officer to conduct continual review of the designs and functionality of the water supply systems (and other water points) to ensure efficient operation as well as reliability and safe water distribution.
  • Act as the main technical personal in the development of BoQs for all WASH works on the various projects including but not limited to latrines construction, water points drilling and rehabilitation.
  • Work with the WASH Officer to design templates, construction contracts for WASH related works, and a system for monitoring the progress of works and performance of hired contractor.
  • Provide rigorous supervision of WASH hardware works in the various communities and projects ( latrines construction, water points rehabilitation)
  • Provide technical supervision to contractors undertaking various IMC works in the communities and ensure delivered work is up to stand as required by IMC
  • Review technical reports from the various contractors and provide recommendations to the WASH Officer as to whether the delivered infrastructures meet the required standards and quality by IMC
  • Provide technical inputs in assessments for new project areas
  • Provide technical inputs in the production of IMC regular reports both internally and externally: Weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.
  • Provide technical input/ verification in the quality and quantity of materials received from suppliers before it is received by the logistics.
  • Liaise with contractors on the quantity and quality of materials to be requested form logistic and makes the request on time for prompt delivery to site.
  • Be involved in capacity building of Water Management and Sanitation committees especially with regards to routine maintenance techniques.
  • Provide updates to WASH Officer on state of IMC Water and Sanitation infrastructure by working closely with the trained WATSAN committees in the communities on regular basis.
Qualification and Experience
  • Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position
  • Must be well knowledgeable in Water and Sanitation implementation ( construction, water points drilling and rehabilitation)
  • Must be fluent in English and Hausa language
  • Experience and skills in supervising WASH contractual work strongly preferred
  • Willing to work and live in insecure environment with rapidly changing security situation ( Maiduguri)

Job Title: WASH Assistant

Job Summary
  • Under the supervision of WASH Officer, the WASH assistant will participate in hygiene campaigns, participate in house to house hygiene promotion, and prepare written materials and reports on field activities, clearly elaborate adapted messages for beneficiaries, as well as support hygiene promotion and other WASH activities in the communities.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the WASH officer, the WASH Assistant will support:
  • Selection and training of the hygiene promoters (VCM).
  • Collection of bio data for both VCMs and beneficiaries in communities.
  • Input beneficiaries’ data into spread sheet in preparation for distribution of NFI kits in communities.
  • Train and monitor VCMs on how to conduct hygiene promotion sessions and fill their log sheets properly document topics discussed, advice provided, document issues of concern for IMC follow up action, number of attendees to sessions, etc
  • Collection of VCM log sheet on monthly basis and certifying work done by VCMs.
  • Identification of the most appropriate messages regarding the target population.
  • Organize training sessions and participate in facilitation in IDP camps and host communities.
  • Evaluate the necessary material needed for a campaign/activity.
  • Mobilize the community on change behavior regarding hygiene practices.
  • Participate in hygiene campaigns, doing shows in schools and at community level and IDP camps in close coordination with community volunteers
  • Actively participate alongside community volunteers in identifying locations/sites for WASH infrastructures (latrines construction/rehabilitation, borehole drilling/rehabilitation, etc) in the beneficiary communities.
  • Animate focus group, giving clear messages on good hygiene practice.
  • Report the progress of the work to the supervisor
  • Report possible problems or conflict during the activities or any other issues that requires IMC follow up/ action
  • Conduct household assessments.
  • Conduct the distribution of water, hygiene and sanitation items.
  • Collection of water sample from household and source and also conduct quality tests using the delaqua KIT

Job Title: Care Group Promoter Supervisor

Location:

Job Summary
The Care Group Promoter Supervisor will lead program planning and provide strategic direction to CG Promoter, Ensure internal and external reporting and documentation requirements are on-time and accurate, Assess staff capacities and coordinate initial or ongoing trainings based on need and program goals, Play a lead role in the orientation and training of new technical program staff, Models leadership to all staff and intentionally develops the leadership potential of the CG Promoters and Prepare a monthly report using the information provided by Care Group Promoters. This is a an outreach position requiring traveling to community locations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure observance and respect the dignity of beneficiaries, care givers and members of the community at all times.
  • Coordinates with project partners, project staff, the SMoH, LGA PHCDA and other stakeholders regarding upcoming activities and needs at the community and State/LGA levels.
  • Responsible for the performance and professional development of the CG Promoters who report to him/her.
  • Review Flipchart Lesson Plans with CG Promoters every two weeks and assure they understand the information well and can teach back the information in a participatory manner.
  • Collect CG Promoter reports on a monthly basis, review the reports and assure the information presented is reasonable and complete.
  • Prepare a monthly report using the information provided by CG Promoters.
  • Maintain a filing system in the project office so copies of CG Promoter Reports are easily accessible.
  • Responsible to supervise each CG Promoter
  • Will ensure that the families of malnourished children receive appropriate counseling, education concerning the IYCF and caring practices through Care Group.
  • Responsible to liaison with the appropriate people in a timely and professional manner to ensure the financial, logistical and procurement issues required to implement project activities.
  • Will backstop the OTP nurse when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Over two (2) years’ experience in nutrition programming.
  • Degree in nutrition or any other related field from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledge of CMAM and MIYCN will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of English and Hausa is a MUST
  • Female candidates are preferred for this position.

Job Title: Care Group Promoter

Location:

Job Summary

  • The Care Group Promoter will coordinate activities at the local level and maintain cooperation with other institutions at community level such as the village council, Sheiks, Traditional Healers, and TBA, Meet with the local leadership committee in each community bi-weekly for coordination, monitoring and evaluation, identify CG capacities and coordinate trainings based on need and program goals, Play Models leadership to all CG and intentionally develops the leadership potential of the CG and Prepare a monthly report using the information provided by Care Group mothers.
  • This is a community based position and requiring frequently traveling within community locations.
Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure observance and respect the dignity of beneficiaries, careers and members of the community at all times.
  • Coordinate activities at the local level and maintain cooperation with other institutions at community level such as the village council, Sheiks, Traditional healers and TBAs.
  • Meet with the local leadership committee in each community bi-weekly for coordination, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Facilitate organized, participatory learning sessions with each of their 10-12 CG Volunteers (in Care Groups) groups every two weeks, following the lesson plans in the educational materials provided.
  • Attend Bi-Weekly Training and Reporting Meetings provided by the CG Promoter Supervisor and the Module Training Sessions to accurately replicate trainings received with CG Volunteers, sharing correct information and demonstrating skills learned.
  • Model the health, nutrition, and sanitation behaviors they are teaching to CG Volunteers in their own homes, located in the community.
  • Visit, monitor, and evaluate each CG Volunteer at least monthly. Supervise the work of CG Volunteers by accompanying them on home visits to Neighbor Women and observing them providing group instruction.
  • Assist with other program activities such as: National Vaccination Days, distribution of Vitamin A and de-worming medicine, weighing of children <5years of age, etc.
  • Attend training and coordination meetings at the LGA office, providing verbal and written reports of activities completed.
  • Collect CG reports on a monthly basis, review the reports and assure the information presented is reasonable and complete.
  • Prepare a monthly report using the information provided by CG Mothers.
  • Maintain a filing system in the project office so copies of CG mothers Reports are easily accessible.
  • Responsible to supervise each CG mothers who reports to her in the field at least twice a month,
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualification
  • Secondary School Education Certificate.
  • Excellent knowledge of Hausa, Good knowledge of English language.

Job Title: Logistics Assistant

Job Summary
  • A Logistics Assistant will be based in Maiduguri and support the Logistics Officer; while another will be based in Abuja will be supporting the Logistics Manager.
  • The position holders will follow-up on receipt, storage, accounting and reporting of all items received, dispatched and stored in the warehouse(s) in collaboration with his/her line Manager, the post holders will manage inventory of all equipment and stocks.
  • He/She will generally provide backup Logistics functions and support to programme delivery for IMC Nigeria..
Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing daily transport movement of staff and movement tracking
  • Assist in the preparation of requests for internal purchases
  • Assist the Logistics Officer in distributing Request for Quotations (RFQs) and Purchase Orders (POs) and collection of quotations
  • Assist the Logistics Officer in following up with vendors, suppliers and contractors
  • Manage stationery store and Programme supplies warehouse and update all records as may be required (BIN cards, stock card, stock issue form, waybills, dispatch notes) etc.
  • Assist with logistics filing system and procurement documentations such other duties, properly assigned, as may be occasioned by the exigencies of the service
Qualifications
  • Degree in Business Management or any related field
  • IT/excel literate
  • 2 years logistics or procurement work experience preferred
  • Highly motivated, and flexible
  • Previous experience working with local/international NGO
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • An experience Store/warehouse management is desired
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent oral and written English skills. Understanding of local Language( Hausa) is mandatory
  • Willingness to work in hardship area.

Job Title: Logistics Officer

Job Descriptions
  • The Logistics Officer will be based in Maiduguri and is responsible for facilitating the procurement and logistics aspects of International Medical Corps' procurement and logistic operation.
  • Working closely with Program, Administration and Finance;
  • He/She will be instrumental in supporting program activities in Borno by ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to the programme team.
Main Responsibilities
  • Support supervisor with the delivery of, and implementation of, all logistics support systems according to IMC Logistics policies and procedures.
  • Support local market surveys, to gain knowledge of the availability and price of local items.
  • Support engagement with freight forwarding agencies, freight handling/clearance agents, and local Customs, to ensure that cargo is managed at all points of the supply chain.
  • Ensure proactive tracking of all supplies, equipment, materiel and food in transit, through its receipt, storage, and onward distribution.
  • Ensure timely reporting on stock status, to help program staff with planning of stock replenishment, and, support program staff to verify that distribution has occurred according to the intentions and plans of supervisor, donors, IMC, and project partners.
  • Assist with the management of all matters logistics at field office level
  • Assist with ensuring that the usage of fuel is correctly managed and recorded.
  • Raise issues with supervisor on security-related transport issues, such as booking in/out, satcomms, radios and assist with addressing them.
  • Be flexible and manage time accordingly, to be prepared to tackle other tasks commensurate with role, and level of experience, at short notice.
Qualifications
  • University Degree in a Business Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement and logistics departments of governmental, non-governmental or commercial organization.
  • An experience in large scale supply chain management preferably Humanitarian Logistics
  • Work experience with International non-governmental organization in emergency context would be added advantage
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel.
  • Excellent oral and written English skills. Understanding of local Language( Hausa) is mandatory
  • High computer skills on MS Office programs, especially in MS Excel.
  • A demonstrated ability to multi-task and process information into action as to not delay program activities.

Job Title: CMAM Assistant

Job Summary
  • The incumbent will be responsible for implementation of CMAM in collaboration with other nutrition staff. S/He will facilitate good practice and ensure compliance to applicable implementation guidelines.
Main Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize OTP at designated OTP sites in liaison with SMoH staff and nutrition officer.
  • Work closely care group promoter supervisors, care group promoters and lead mothers to ensure all aspects of the program are understood and agreed and appropriate referrals take place to and from the community to OTP sites.
  • Supervise the activities of the CMAM team.
  • Work closely with the teams to ensure all children are screened correctly.
  • Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the teams, including admission, discharge and transfer to and from the OTP/SC.
  • Ensure comprehensive health checks and correct clinical diagnosis at the time of assessment according to the CMAM protocols so that the patient receives appropriate treatment in the relevant program.
  • Ensure all children in OTP are immunized according to the national protocols.
  • Ensure timely identification of complications, non-responders, and referrals to the SC.
  • Ensure correctness, consistence and completeness of the information in the nutrition registers.
  • Ensure adequate availability of all medical and food supplies and ensure stock is pre-positioned as planned by discussing with logistics
  • Through liaison with the community volunteers provide effective follow up of all cases: particularly tracing of children who are absent from the program, sick children, long stay children, children not gaining weight, and children with social problems... etc.
  • Provide key health and education messages to beneficiaries based the protocol and guidelines
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the program admission and discharge whenever necessary at the OTP sites.
  • Follow-up and ensure the field team interacts with the beneficiaries properly
  • Provide a daily and weekly CMAM report to the nutrition officer.
Qualifications
  • Over two (2) years’ experience
  • Registered nurse with a Degree in nursing a recognized nurse training institute.
  • Valid and current practicing license.
  • Knowledge of CMAM and MIYCN will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent report-writing skills.
