PROJECT MANAGER

Job brief

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who will take on the management of key client projects with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and scope.

Responsibilities

·         Assist in the definition/agreeing  project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
·         Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
·         Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
·         Ensure resource availability and allocation
·         Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
·         Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
·         Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
·         Report and escalate to management as needed
·         Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
·         Perform risk management to minimize project risks
·         Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
·         Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
·         Representing the client's or organisation's interests
·         Providing advice on the management of projects
·         Team manage all the various professional people working on a project
·         Using IT systems to keep track of people and progress
·         Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing

 

Requirements

  • Very good educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or    engineering
  • Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
  • Not more than thirty five years of age.

  • Develops strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives; set goals for each department; clearly communicate goals to each department heads and measure the success of department.
  • Accomplishes subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
  • Coordinates efforts by establishing procurement, production, marketing, field, and technical services policies and practices; coordinating actions with corporate staff.
  • Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Hire, train, and terminate workers as needed; handle employee relations; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • Very good first degree from a reputable institution. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Proven working experience in project management and must have worked as a unit or departmental head in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must have a minimum of ten years post qualification experience.
